GripShape is committed to helping engineers, designers and end users implement their automation by offering several ways to get the right gripper components. If you need help with your finger design, reach out to us today. Fairlane's experience in workpiece gripping and positioning will ensure your project is a success.
Design Your Own Gripper Finger
Our team is committed to streamlining how individuals can design and purchase custom gripper components. We've created a powerful online configurator, which requires no CAD experience, to design unique gripper fingers for your specific application.
GripShape uses an easy to navigate interface that allows for quick customizations of a 3D CAD model in minutes. The configurator uses gripper module manufacturer's data to ensure the fit is correct, along with inputs about your specific application to automatically generate model geometry.
Verifying is easy with the real-time 3D model that you can save, share and download. Once complete, we can manufacture your design using additive manufacturing or CNC machining.
While there are limited gripper modules available to choose from in this BETA release, a GripShape expert is available to design and quote finger tooling for your exact gripper application. Contact us today to learn more about how GripShape can ensure your gripping and positioning application is a success.
Need help getting the right gripper finger?
Making functional robot gripper fingers can be a complex and sensitive process.
Fairlane's experience in workpiece gripping and positioning will ensure your project is a success. By using our prorietary software to efficiently configure a tooling design for your specific application, we take the guess work out of gripper tooling.
Fairlane can help with gripper modules, fingers, interface plates, mounting brackets, tables, part loading trays and more. Contact us today to receive a quick response and see how easy it can be to get the right gripper tooling, fast.

GripShape is a product & service offering of robotic gripper fingers from Michigan-based manufacturer, Fairlane Products. The GripShape configurator is an intuitive application for users to design their own custom robot gripper fingers.
The GripShape configurator is free to use. Outside of the application, we offer design services and manufacturing of the products you create.
We have chosen to start with the Robotiq Hand-E gripper module because it is a versatile co-bot, plug and play gripper module. Internally, our library is extensive with gripper modules from leading manufacturers so if you need a finger for your specific module, reach out and we can design it for you using the same technology that you see inside the GripShape configurator.

We can insert your workpiece into the design for you. Email us your 3D Model to solutions@gripshape.com
After the initial application review, we do our best to get a concept approval back to you within 1 - 2 days. More complex designs will take longer.
3D printed parts are usually shipped within 2-4 business days. CNC components will be 1 - 3 weeks depending on the complexity. Expedited services are available, just call us and we will try to accommodate your schedule.
For finger designs intended to be machined from aluminum or steel, GripShape offers a 3D printed prototype set for fitting and evaluation purposes. This set allows users to confirm clearances around the work area and workpiece without the need to involve CAD software. These fingers are high resolution 3D prints in PA12 material.
Yes! You can download the CAD model directly inside the GripShape configurator if you are designing the finger yourself or we can provide it for you on a custom designed part.
While the download option provides a parasolid CAD file, which can be imported into any 3D printer slicer, it is ultimately up to you to determine if the geometry is appropriate for your application as there maybe external factors to consider.
There are many factors to consider, however, the relatively low cost to print in PA12 offers good opportunity to test and evaluate. PA12 is suited for applications requiring weight savings and relatively low forces. It is not suited for high temperatures, harsh chemicals, high impact situations or thin cross sections.
Are you sure you wish to delete this design?
You will not be able to restore it.
Notice: BETA release
Model refresh times could be greater than 60 seconds.
Disclaimer: The application's design flexibility can allow the user to create a product that is outside of the manufacture's recommonded parameters or what may be suitable for the intended end use. The user is ultimately responsible for ensuring the final design is appropriate for their application.
